Refurbished Jinja in Iwama
Sensei Sargeant outside the refurbished Jinja in Iwama. The locals made an amazing job of restoring this very special place that O'Sensei had originally built.

You may have seen pictures of O'Sensei sitting praying in front of the original building here. It is all part of the Jinja but it's just a monument and is not for entering, like the main building at the front (with the gate at the entrance).

A stone in front of the Jinja states what the Jinja stands for. It has now
become a very special place attracting thousands of visitors who come to see
this building and the area where O'Sensei lived & trained in Iwama.
Other students raking the ground in front of the Jinja, this would normally be carried out in one's Gi but this was just a clean up day. Across the road is the drive to the main Iwama Dojo.
