The TIAE acknowledges its duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and is committed to ensuring safeguarding practice reflects statutory responsibilities, government guidance and complies with best practice requirements.
The TIAE recognises that the welfare and interests of children are paramount in all circumstances, and aims to ensure that regardless of age, ability or disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation, socio-economic background, all children:
have a positive and enjoyable experience of aikido at any TIAE affiliated club, in a safe and child-centred environment
are protected from abuse whilst participating in aikido and, as so far as is possible, outside of the aikido environment.
The TIAE assures that all Member Clubs and individual members providing services for children and young persons adopts the Aikido Alliance UK’s Safeguarding Policies
All Member Club s who are providing these services have an appointed Club Welfare Officer responsible for ensuring the appropriate safeguarding measures are in place. For further information on Safeguarding or if you are concerned about any aspect of what is happening to you, your son/daughter/ward either due to the behaviour of adults or other children at one of our Member Clubs, please contact your Club’s Welfare Officer in the first instance.
